Gerry Gutierrez' Update
Taken advantage of every opportunity for the days are evil. Bombs away!!! “The will of God for us in Jesus” The will of God for us in Christ Jesus is: To be joyful always; To pray continually; To give thanks in all circumstances. I Thess. 5:16 to 18 God has not left us up to our imagination what his will for our
lives is. It is not up to the individual to do or to be joyful, peaceful, and
thankful in the strength of the flesh or after the council of our own will but
in Christ Jesus. It is not only impossible to be joyful, prayerful, and thankful
always but unconceivable apart from the life of Jesus in us. The will of God for us is like a sure
investment that for certain it will be a complete success because it is not an
investment in us but in Jesus in us the hope of glory. The one thing we must know and remember is that the will of God
is the desire and plan of God that is bound to happen and prevail. Heaven and
earth might pass away, but God’s will revealed in his word will never pass
away. The will and word of God is a standard and constant. It is as
reliable as the speed of light except more precise and exact. When you discover by revelation the love and the will of God in
Jesus, eternity will not be long enough to singing praises to God day and
night. Rejoicing always is an effect and not a cause. Such joy is great that no
amount of tickling under the armpits can be the real
reason for that joy. Laughter is not enduring and can easily be of the wise or
the fool to levels even of insanity, while joy is deep waters. To rejoice is to have joy again and again and again. Re-joy, for
the same reason that is great enough that it does not run out. Again Joy is
deep water and to rejoice is like the immeasurable universe or the deep ocean. More important than rejoicing is to understand the reason for such
a joy. Let us stop and seek to understand our wealth in Jesus. Apart from sin and the love of God in Jesus in redemption, we
would be no different than angels who never fail, who were never redeemed, who
never pray prayers of thankful gratitude for such a great salvation. Or we
could be like the fallen angels who are already condemned for eternity without
reason to rejoice, pray, or be thankful and out of the grace of God. As tragic and sad the history of the fall of
man and the very high cost of salvation is, it must never be seen as a “cosmic
accident” or a great escape from the sovereign control of God. If it is not an accident, we must accept the fact that God
allowed it for a greater good and that without being the author of sin.
Consider the life of Joseph. His brothers sold him as a slave to
some Egyptians, but unbeknownst to them, God was behind all of it. So
later Joseph could say “you meant it for evil, but God meant it for
good”. While the Egyptians counted their money into the hands of the
brothers of Joseph, the transaction had Jehovah not only as a witness but also
as a sovereign controller of the business transaction. In the same way
when Judas sold Jesus for 30 silver coins, the sovereign God was not only a
witness but also the blessed controller of all things, which included the
predestined life of Judas for that very act of treason. Without it “evil would
have not worked for good”. In the great scheme of things, we must not get lost in the
details, even though “The devil is in the details.” The will of God, the
perfect desire of God is that we may rejoice always, pray continually, and be
thankful in all our circumstances and for that we needed a reason! And that
reason is SALVATION. Jesus is the reason and the savior. When we were yet sinners he
died for us and gave us such a great salvation that the never ending and
constant understanding of the love of God in Jesus will make us sing songs of
joy that eternity will not be too long. What is amazing to me is to think of God as my father and Jesus
as my head and I a part of his body. And the will of the Trinity is that I
might be joyful always, pray continually, and given thanks in all my
circumstances. Knowing that I have a reason to be joyful, prayerful, and
thankful leads me to conclude that; God must love me! God loves me indeed! I
love my Father and my father loves me. We love each other. Yes! It is all about the Great commandment. God expects me to
love him with all my heart, soul, strength, and mind. God is love and he is not
a hypocrite because he loves me and leads me by example. My longing to be with my children is such that literally I am
“lovesick for them”. In my case, my need of their fellowship is only second to
my need of fellowship with God. What is beyond amazing is the thought of our
God the Lord loves me as if he would need my fellowship and companionship. How
can it be that you my God could have need of me unless what is in me in Jesus
is so precious to you that you love me for your own sake? Thank you Jesus for giving me a taste of heaven on earth. I am
joyful, prayerful, and thankful and cannot be any other way for me by Grace and
to the glory of God forever and ever amen. Now I know the will of God I must testify as witness of Jesus.
How did I come to know it? It is just a matter of taking Jesus at his word,
which is faith and come to agree with God with the mind of Jesus, which is
prayer. Let us settle for the will of God according to the word of God.
Faith is equal to prayer under the will and word of God: F=PW2. The childlike practice of this principle leads a believer into
alignment with God and oneness and unity with God where power and authority
stop being an aspiration but a possession. God is mine and I am of God. Not
like this pen in my hand is mine, but as my hand is of my body with Jesus as my
head. My oneness with God is the “ultimate reality”. It makes “loving God and
enjoying him forever” not just a wishful thought but also a never-ending
reality. To you of Jesus I am a brother by the will of God that prevails. Gerry Gutierrez Holding my grandson Simeon after his baptism as Jesus was hold by
