Gerry Gutierrez' Update

Praying to the God of your thoughts to pay attention to this letter.

The Calm before the Storm.

A real storm came the 4th of July and Knocked down a tree over the power lines of my neighborhood so that we were in a long blackout providing me with an alibi to postponed my attack into the world. With my Albert Einstein like equation of E=MC2, I present to you F=PW2 which means Faith is equal to Prayer under the will of God and the Word of God that applied properly brings the believer into alignment with God and therefore into Oneness with God making out of Power and Authority not something to sought after, but something to be rightfully possessed as an inheritance in our oneness with God.

From this day forward you shall receive a series of letters speaking about the same subject of Jesus, Prayer and the Power of the Oneness with God in Jesus as the only way to change the world when you wake up and before you make your bed.

My hope is that one of this letters will cause you to see what I have come to see and agree with me in Oneness with God and become the spark that will put the prairie on fire and accelerate the return of Jesus and God’s willing in our generation.

Revolutionary ideas are like babies that once their time comes to be born, there is nothing that can stop it but life or death. Take these letters in the name of Jesus as a call to join forces in the power of Agreement and willingness to deposit by Faith all your body weight in this endeavor of prayer. I believe this to be of God.

Most of my lifetime work has been done in the strength of the flesh, with a dull ax and double strength, but not this time. Might God’s grace rest on us and the mercy of God be plenty over us who love him dearly.

Gerry

PS. I have never had anything worth to offer to you apart from my personal testimony as the witness of the transforming power of the love of God in the Gospel of Jesus. Now at old age and before I leave this world I present to you my best as the cream of my thinking as a fruit of long years of meditation on Prayer and the Lord’s Prayer.

The Calm Before the Storm.

It's been seven years since I came to the Chattanooga area bringing my “wounded wife” with a broken leg to Erlanger Hospital only to die a year later after suffering 21 years of cancer.

My wife left me with a charge, “Now you will have more time for your Lord and for prayer, Papa.” No one apart from God knew of my passion to understand prayer than my wife.

Though I learned to speak repeating after my grandmother the Lord's Prayer, I could not understand how a Sovereign God could answer the prayers of so many and still be sovereign.

I found it easier for me, a former atheist, to come to know God in Jesus than to understand to my entire satisfaction the mystery of prayer. What attracted me to Jesus was the supernatural aspect of his life and message.

Jesus’ birth and resurrection at Christmas and Easter Sunday were to me like burger buns. Prayer was the meat. For forty years I have been asking myself along with some little old ladies: “Where is the beef?”

Literally, I have searched for the living among the dead.

I visited Mao Tse Tung in his mausoleum in the Tiananmen Square across from the Forbidden City in Beijing, China only to see his embalmed body and bones of Mao in a glass casket.

I visited Vladimir Illich Ulianov Lenin behind the walls of the Kremlin at the Red Square cattycorner from the Saint Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow, Russia before and after Perestroika and Glasnost only to see the suspended glass coffin with the embalmed body and bones of Lenin in a dark room jealously guard by well uniformed soldiers.

I have visited the tomb of Karl Marx in London, England and stood before his statue and for my own sake warned him that I will seek to destroy his work in me and others around the world with the name of Jesus and His Gospel. It seems as if my life has been designed to propagate Marxism and to destroy it.

I visited Germany and since there is no tomb to the memory of Adolf Hitler, I went to the Broward House in Munich where Hitler launched his attack into the world and I did my own attack by launching “the New Manifesto of the Followers of Jesus” by proclaiming to an international community with my message of “The Gospel according to God the Father” based on the words of God the Father on the mountain of Transfiguration when God said: “This is my son whom I love, in Him I am well pleased. Listen to Him. ”The works of God as well as eternal life is one and the same thing.  “It is to believe in Him whom He has sent.”

My next stop was in Calcutta where I visited Mother Teresa's tomb and along with the sisters of the charity we arranged over the memorial stone over her body the word “Jesus” with yellow petals of flowers.

I had to stop for a visit in Agra India to the Taj Mahal built by Mogul emperor Shah Jahan 1592-1666 in memory of his favorite wife who gave birth to many children and died as she was giving birth to his last child.

I have visited the tomb of the unknown soldier several times at the Arlington Cemetery in Washington, DC, and while there I visited countless times the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, The Vietnam memorial. I also have visited Ground Zero where once proudly stood the Twin Towers.

If my search for beef has led me to find nothing but bones, it is because I have been looking for the living among the dead. Perhaps in honor to my childhood lessons learned from Grandma I wanted to learn from what grandma said: “Live life as one who will one day die and stand before God”.

By now you might be asking where is the beef?  My answer is that there is in no beef among the dead!

But my search took me to the “Garden Tomb”, just outside the walls of Jerusalem in Israel across from the sheep gate not far from Golgotha.

There it was, a tomb, cut in a solid Rock open for the followers of Jesus to enter and smell a fresh cool air with no aroma of death inside because He is not there. He is alive and cannot be found among the dead.

I sat for a moment with a divine smile with God as the author of such a smile if “smile” is the proper word. I ate the unseen beef and believed and was satisfied. Jesus was not there because He has risen and risen indeed.!

Jesus is the beef as well as the upper and lower bun. Christmas and Easter is all about Jesus. Jesus is the solid food of every prayer; everything else is at best milk. Christmas and Easter are events, while Jesus is Reality.

Jesus is the beef as well as Jesus is the will of God therefore Jesus is the Prayer of GOD.

Apart from Jesus, the bread of life, there is no way man can live or have life.

Only those who have life in Jesus can recognize God in Jesus. Jesus said: “You have no life in you because you fail to recognize that my words are not my own but of the one who sent me”.

When we pray, “Give us this day our daily “beef” we are like a car at the gas station to fill up the tank in order to go anywhere. Let him who does not eat from Jesus know he is not going anywhere without Jesus.

Let us see; “Hold your breath and stop eating and you will surely die in short order.” In the same way, he who does not believe and prays is unable to know God’s will as revealed in scripture and is already dead or dying.

Faith is equal to Prayer under the will and word of God as revealed in Scripture.  Without Faith, which is taking Jesus at his word and Prayer, which is agreement with God under the will of God as revealed in scripture Spiritual health and life is impossibility.

Where Faith is absent, fear is present; like in the Lake of Galilee when the storm came down and the disciples were afraid.  In the same way the opposite is true; where Faith is present, fear is absent and sleep is king even in a storm Jesus was sleeping. Jesus’ first words to the disciples who woke him up are not words of comfort but words of Rebuke. “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Fear in the presence of Jesus is worth a Rebuke.

Jesus granted them who came to him for salvation some passing grades. Because if one goes to another to be saved, one must have some faith and as little as it may be is recognized by Jesus as “little faith”.

When Men’s prayers are for calm from the present storm. Calm you ask and calm you will get… until the next storm. For some “the calm” becomes like “aspirin” that calms the pain but never totally cures the sickness.

It is in that intermittent calmness that men enter into the self-deception of calling the experience, “Victory after Victory”.  Indeed there is a taste of victory and glory in that small calmness’s. But Jesus did not come to calm our storms but to give us Faith that is the victory that overcomes the world.

Only when we sleep with Jesus in the storm will people be amazed of the supernatural nature of our Faith and credit Jesus of whom we are his witnesses and cause people to say of Jesus, “ What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey Him’.

When was the last time that others have seen the supernatural in action because of your prayers? If they have seen it, then you must have followers because people follow others who amaze them by the display of the supernatural in them. If we are not in a “show and tell” business of the supernatural, then we are no different than any politicians in the world.

Conversion is the easy part because it's the work of God as converting water into wine is a miracle. Miracles are works of God. Jesus has called us to make disciples. Discipleship is the hardest work as it was for Jesus.  Out of 12 carefully and prayerfully chosen, Jesus becomes a close friend of 3: Peter, James, and John.

Out of the three disciples only John is singled out as the beloved of Jesus, and he alone with the women stood near Jesus at Calvary.  John alone was the confidant of Jesus in Patmos.

If you do not have one like John, or three like Peter, James, and John then, do you really have 12 or 150 or 5000?

Abraham had Isaac, Moses had Joshua and Caleb, Daniel had his three friends, and David had Jonathan. Esther had uncle Mordecai, Elijah had Elisha, and Paul had Timothy and Titus.

Do people follow you because they have to or because they want to?

What is the most amazing thing they have seen in you that cannot be explained any other way than the power of God in Jesus in you?

If you have counted your blessings one by one, tell me one where I can see the fingerprints of God to the point I can tell you as the Samaritans said to the women:  We no longer believe just because of you but we have seen and heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the savior of the world. JN 4:42

What the Samaritans were saying is: We believe and agree with God that Jesus is the will of God according to His own words we have heard for ourselves and accepted it. F=PW2

Dear Samantha of Samaria, we are in alignment with you and God in Jesus and are one with you in Jesus therefore one with God.

Faith is taking Jesus at His word.

Prayer is agreeing with God and one another.

Will of God is the ever-prevailing Element.

Word of God is the constant Standard of Faith and Practice more precise and reliable than the speed of light. F=PW2

Alignment with God is the result of Prayer.

And the ultimate blessing of alignment with God is oneness with God where Power and authority are no longer a need to be sought after but an heritage and a possession to be used in oneness with God and for his glory alone.
