“Love is in the gift.”

From all the things great and small my most precious possession and treasure is a pearl of great price and his name is Jesus, the gift of God to me.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6

In this dark, cold, violent, extremely solitary and infinite universe we are placed by a creator to grow in stature, grace and wisdom but at the same time we are getting old and fragile by the minute. We have not been forgotten by our creator who has blessed us with the gift of his one an only son Jesus on whose shoulder rest all power and authority to govern all things great and small.

Do not let the child of Bethlehem blind you with nearsightedness and fail to see in that Holy Child the, WONDER OF WONDERS, God with us.
Do not allow this Christmas the humanity of Jesus to rob his divinity. Jesus is Man but Jesus is also God. Jesus came supernaturally and left also supernaturally.

If you only see in Jesus a human baby boy, you are still in your sins, you are still a fragile lonely small being in the dark cold and violent universe without hope and on your own with no one to govern your life your future or your existence.

The wonder of Jesus is that he is the Counselor of God to us, revealing his will that without it nothing makes sense. The one thing that is self-evident is that a counselor must know and knows what He is talking about.
If anything a counselor presupposes knowledge to counsel and that is Jesus among other things is the Truth, “The wisdom of God” or “The will of God”. For Jesus to be called counselor as one of his proper names could not be possible unless he is the Almighty God who knows the end from the beginning and has the power to exercise sovereign control to whatsoever comes to pass after the counsel of his own immutable and unchangeable and predestined will.

All the wonderful counsel and power of almighty God would not mean much if it would last only as long as time and space, but Jesus is more than all those things together, he is the Everlasting Father which means infinite and non ending Father of us that as opposed to earthly fathers who eventually died and leave behind orphans to their beloved children. Not so with Jesus who on top of being Father he is everlasting and we as his children partake the eternal nature of Christ our Lord and savior and life eternal.

When you add all those elements in the name of Jesus you have the grounds for the kingdom of God where the Father God and King has granted all power and authority to Prince Jesus to govern the kingdom in peace as his name is “PRINCE OF PEACE”. With judgment day behind and conflict done away forever, peace is the order of the day every day. Without peace, what good is any success .

Peace in full reconciliation with God and our fellow believer is the name of Jesus. The gift of God in Jesus wrapped in swaddling clothes is more than a baby. Jesus is the wonderful love of God in one person who loves us enough to become like one of us so we can become one like him.

Merry Christmas? Happy New Year?

There is an imperative need to change our greetings. Merry and Happy does not nearly express what we have in our hearts as recipients of the Gift of God in Jesus and the new opportunities that comes our way every year. A proper greeting every Christmas should be nothing less but asking for the second coming of the Lord. “Your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is done in heaven”.

If we believe and love the first coming, we should be longing and dying with excitement for the return of Jesus as well as developing an healthy dislike for life as we know it on earth.

Come quickly Lord, come quickly.
