“Jesus
hires those standing around doing nothing.”
From very early in the morning throughout the day up to one hour
before Sunset Jesus is agreeing on salary and hiring men who are just standing
around doing nothing.
The verbal contract of wages is agreed from the beginning and clearly stated as
not to leave any doubt or create false expectations.
“One denarius wages for one honest day’s work.”
At the end of the day the original agreement is ignored and grumbling against
the Job creator developed fast.
Those once jobless men who were just standing around doing nothing start to
grumble by comparing their work with the work of the other workers.
Their resentment is that they are made equal to the others when in their mind
they should be treated with more honor or honorarium.
At first sight their complaint seem to be founded as
to the many more hours of work if it were not for the Original Agreement.
The answer of Jesus is soft but firm.
“ Friend, I am not being unfair to you.
Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? Take your pay and go. I want to give
the man who was hired last the same as I gave you.
Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my money? Or are you envious
because I am generous?
So the last will be first and the first will be last.”
Let’s take this passage in a childlike manner and explain that entrance into
the kingdom of God is the result of the generosity of a Sovereign God who takes
the initiative to come down to a bunch of idle men who are just standing around
and doing nothing worth with their lives.
The first communication between God and man is a binding condition and
agreement.
God gave his word and man believed and agreed the will of God as stated in the
word of God. F=PW2.
Faith is equal to Prayer under the Will and Word of God.
In the light of the infinite value of salvation, what difference does it make
to have worked 12 hours or one hour.
It is by agreement alone I am hire for eternal life.
The thief in the cross did not work for Jesus even one hour but was equally saved as was the hard working Abraham or Moses.
It’s by grace we are saved through Faith and even Faith is not of ourselves but
is the gift of God so no one can boast.
Be thankful to have been hired from standing around doing nothing into the
Kingdom of God who keeps his word and pays as he has promised with the great
salvation set in one price from eternity.
We are hired by generous Jesus who paid in full for our entrance into the
kingdom.
The wages of keeping your agreement (prayer) with God is eternal life.
Jesus hires but never fires. Jesus only lets go of those who walk away in
treason and betrayal.
Jesus the job creator prays to his Father for those he hired saying,
“Father, from those you gave me I did not lose any but the traitor”.
I beg you in the name of Jesus to keep your friends to the end.
Keep them as God in Jesus has kept you as the apple of his eyes.
Keep your friends because one day you will give account of them to God.
The wealth of a man is in the number of his true and close friends.
The faithfulness of a man to his friends is his honor and glory.
Be a friend to you spouses. Be a friend to your parents.
Be a friend to your child.
Do not expect others to slide in the vacuum you create in the heart of those to
whom you should love.
In the Love of God in Jesus and my own love for you, I bless you in my last day
of vacation in Long Beach, California.
