Gerry Gutierrez' Update
Jesus is worth
dying every day. He paid it all in full. Can I have the check? April 17, 2018 Georgia Some
one said, “Put your money where your mouth is”. “Where
your treasures are, there your heart will also be”. Our
attitude toward money defines our attitude toward God. No one can serve two
masters. Treat money, as a slave and it will always serve you. If you treat
money as a lord you’ll always be its slave and you will never have enough of it
to be satisfied. Let
us see Abraham, David, Jesus, Paul, Ruthie, Keila and
I. Abraham’s secret wealth was that he made his fortune by investing
himself into God’s hand to let God to help himself from him. Thus he became the
friend of God the Father of our Faith and the father of the three main
religions of the world. Abraham
lived in the Promised Land as a stranger. Abraham let his nephew Lot choose the
best of the land not because Lot deserved that land but Abraham trusted God
that the choice of his Nephew Lot would be the choice of God for Him. Once
a man gives up self to God, it’s easier to give everything else. The most
precious possession of a man on earth is his life. Life is a portion of time
given to man to spend it as the expression of his priorities. As a man spends
his time so he spends his life. As the saying goes, “God gave us life
as a gift and what we do with it is our gift to God”. For
the followers of Jesus the money they have comes from the same account. Jesus
as a friend gives generously to them who believe in him in a child like manner.
Since God is spirit and invisible and no one can see him and no one has ever
seen him. God makes himself visible in Jesus the friend of sinners. He came as
a baby as one who serves and died as a Lamb of God the takes away the sins of
the world. The
same God works today to will and to do in his friends to provide whatsoever his
other friends need or want according to his good pleasure. This causes them to
be like Jesus to one another and welding their hearts together in oneness after
the pattern of the love of the Godhead under whose image they were created
after all. A man of faith is a wealthy man. He may not seem to have much but in Jesus
he has it all. Prince Jesus may have not found room in the Inn at his birth,
but before his first cry as a newborn baby was heard,
he already had three friendly Wise Men from the East at the door of the manger
with their gifts. They came to cover every expenses
with gold, every prayer with incense placing all things a prayer away and myrrh
to make him smell as only a pure baby can with the aroma of life. Abraham the father of Jesus and the father of our faith give up
Ur of the Chaldeans, his family and friends to obey the call of God. In the
same way Jesus gave up heaven and his Throne to came down in
obedience to do the will of God and that was to pay the debt we could not pay
by given his life and love us to death and resurrection.
Abraham
paid the purchase price of the cave of Machpelah to
lay the body of his wife Sarah. He refused to take it for free because
he was not going to give a resting place to his wife with something that did
not cost him a thing. Gift is an expression or worth. In
the same way David who believe in God would not take a piece of land for
the Lord that did not cost him a thing. Jesus gave his life for us by
dying in our place because he loved us so much. God
show his love for us by paying the ultimate price of our redemption with his
own life. God did not take us as a free gift but paid for us with his own
blood. God did not take us as if we were something that did not cost
him a thing. Paul left his former way of life and friends to follow Jesus and
suffered persecution, abuse, jail, flogging and lived as a tent maker to feed himself and followed Jesus to death. Paul did not
give God something that did not cost him a thing. Ruthie my wife came to my country as a little girl and literally
left her ashes in the valley up in the Andes Mountains where she found me. Ruthie
gave it all for Peru and did not give God that which it did not cost her a
thing. Keila my daughter literally give her life and died the 3rd of
February at the age of 43 by trying to reach International Students for Jesus
in the University of Delaware. She worked herself to death as teacher a among
the Chinese, Arabs, Iranians, Iraqis, Egyptians, Brazilians and Peruvians
students. She gave up her home, family, Country, language and diet to serve
Jesus. Keila is an inspiration as a martyr and is
among our family a legend in a class of her own. Keila
did not give to God something that did not cost her a thing. I
have not much to offer to God of monetary value which he can use for his glory,
but I have given it all unto Jesus in surrender. Because of Jesus I have become
the enemy and traitor of my former friends and comrades only to become friends
of my former enemies for over 45 years. I’m not given God something
that it does not cost me a thing. Even
as I write this line I find myself deeply wounded by friendly fire licking my
wounds caused by relentless persecutors that come in waves as if a pack of
wolfs are after me.
Little
did I know that one month later I would have the visit of two other men with
whom I have never expend one hour together in a private conversation or getting
to know each other. They said to have come “to help”. Ten minutes within the
conversation I knew that I was being weigh, measured and found wanting. What
followed was no different than my years before Jesus came into my life. I may
have survived the experience if it was not for a follow up letter written the
next day in a spirit that I fail to recognize Jesus’ love and voice in it. Back
to square one in my writings. I was questioned and told “ You are not going to
convince anyone with your so called “Call” even if you repeated it until the
cows come home.” I
have seen some in the past of those who came after me with hate without reason
falling in the hands of the living God who said, “vengeance is mine, I will repay.” (I am praying the strong prayer of Jesus that
conquered my own heart so long ago, “Father, forgive them for they know not
what they do”). Ironically,
the timing of their visit came right after I have asked many of you my friends
around the world by the hundreds to pray for me as I have set a dead line to go
public with my lifetime project to share my findings on the power of God to
transform the world. The role of faith, prayer and the will and the word of God
are awesome truths that lead men into alignment with God according
to scripture. F=PW2. I
have been shaking temporarily in my confidence and silenced by the
confrontation. They accuse me of mental illness. I almost died miserably and
alone after they left. I am regrouping and re-writing again and again what I
intend to communicate soon I hope. I am hurting at the present time the worst
but Jesus is with me and I’m not going to give to God something that
does not cost me a thing. With
all due respect I send the following link that I have found extremely useful to
comfort anyone in similar situation as mine. I have heard it seven times and
have helped me to stick to my guns and survive the day to fight another day. I
am a Chipmunk and do not get along with hamsters. Please visit by clicking the

stood up for us and we must stand up for him. Jesus paid my bill and I in turn
will take the check for the elect whom I love with the love of God that
constrains me. For the first time in my life I am a true missionary
in a cross cultural situation working with the US Nationals in a language not
of my own in the hope to leave my ashes for you in exchange for what my wife
did by bringing the Gospel to me and my people. I will not give God
something, which does not cost me a thing. Gerry

PS. My Top Army Psychologist friend does not only love me but I
believe him when he said, “there is nothing wrong with you”. I have chosen to
embrace his words and shake the dust of my feet from any other cousins of the
friends of Job. Keep me in your prayers. Keep me as the apple of your eyes. I
am a friend your Jesus.
