Gerry Gutierrez' Update
S.O.S. on behalf of Ben, he has a big surgery today [5/24/17]. I believe to be the will of God to
ask you to agree with me and intercede for Ben’s surgery today.
Someone said, "Either you are a missionary
or a mission field".
Some others have
said,
"Sickness is a missionary from God even if it is from
Satan, it does not come without the permission of God".
Still
others say, "A missionary has no business
to stay around once his job is done",
I
say, "We are not either or but we
are both, missionaries in mission fields".
God, God did not spare his own son from
suffering and he's not in obligation to make out of us an exception".
Jesus was led by the Spirit into
the desert to be tempted by the devil and set an example of how to react when
testing comes our way.
We have had our share of
pains and aches.
We are no estrangers to the operating table and many
visits to the doctors.
We have always seen the grace and the love of God
in such at times as these more closely than in times of peace and
quiet.
As in the case of Jesus, once he
overcame temptation in the desert as well as in the garden of Gethsemane,
Angels came down and attended him.
We also have
been encouraged at the other side of the valley of the shadow of death by
Angels in disguise.
So every time we go to see a
doctor we always go out to eat to celebrate.
Today
Ben the Gladiator number two of the family only second to Ruthie in the number
of surgeries, will have another major surgery to clean up his system after the
last big series of surgeries he had in January.
Ben is a veteran of many
battles with death.
When Ben was just a new born baby,
he was already a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. His first 40 days of
life were in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Chile, fighting for his
life.
Recently Ben had a series of
surgeries and in the same way as he fought death as a baby he also fought death
as an adult for another 40 days and 40 nights, from January to March.
Please pray for Ben today.
I believe to be the
will of God for us to agree and pray for him today.
"May it be a
walk in the park" He is so exited and looking forward to it in a childlike
trust.
I have already send money to celebrate in his favorite
restaurant.
A father of sorrows also acquainted
with grief.
