Gerry Gutierrez' Update
Jesus will not return, unless we ask Him Let us pray as the last straw
prayer the words, ÒYour kingdom comeÓ ÒGod reveals the thoughts and
inspires the word.Ó
There is such a thing as ÒExtraordinary Revelation
and Common RevelationÓ. There is also such a thing as
ÒExtraordinary Grace and Ordinary GraceÓ.
By common grace, even in
the pagan world, there is a common wisdom express in poems and noble writings.
Though man is totally depraved, he is not as depraved as he can possibly be and
this is due to common grace and the Òrestraining power of sinÓ.
In the same way, by special
or extraordinary grace, the believer is not on this side of heaven totally
sanctified and purified. By virtue of election, choice and predestination,
man is the recipient of revelation within the revealed word of God in
scripture. God sovereignly chooses to reveal insights that are kept from the none elect in parables. So, they are kept blind as those
who walk sensing their way, ever seeing but never perceiving, ever hearing but
never understanding.
This is in order that they
may not come to understand and to repent and God would have to forgive
them.
(See the explanation of the parable of the sower).
On the other hand, God is
indeed partial with the elect to whom God gladly reveals things that eyes
have not seen and ears have not heard that were kept for those who love him.
It is in that kind of
intimacy and childlike faith that "this man" got up this morning
seeking in Scriptures wisdom on "How to market prayer best, today".
We the
followers of Jesus should use our "sledgehammer" of prayer to pray
away the prayer of prayers for our generation and in full agreement say,
"Your kingdom come" Long and behold, there it was
as usual in front of my half blind diabetic and abused eyes, the 39 verse of
the 22 chapter of the Gospel of Matthew: " For I tell you, you
will not see me again until you say, Brothers and sisters let this
man be candid; could the Lord be clearer than this? Jesus is authorizing what our
"New manifesto of the followers of JesusÓ is seeking, to accelerate
together in Prayer the return of the Lord in our generation by praying
together, ÒYour kingdom comeÓ.
This is "The accelerator
verse" where by we can join God and urge him to return.
Until we pray persistently
the Lords prayer by repeating after him "Your kingdom come",
this man is afraid we will not see him come in our generation.
But
this man and his friends are looking for the blessing of the Lord who said
blessed is he, who says or prays,
"Blessed is he who
comes in the name of the LordÓ.
The
Lord is spelling it out so clearly and likely putting it into braille for the
blind:
"I am the one who comes in the name of the Lord and if you
want to see me again, then you must ask to our Father in Heaven, Your kingdom
Come."
Pray like the little children on palm Sunday
saying "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord" or
like the Angels on Christmas eve in his first coming, "Glory to God in the
highest and on earth peace on men in whom his favor rests".
"Your kingdom come"
The
powerful God of the universe has never force his way or his kingdom into the
hearts and minds of his wife the elect, the predestined, the chosen.
God is not a rapist.
God is love and he is a lover
who courts by alluring into the desert like experiences and speaks tenderly
into the heart of her bride, "Lovers talk and kingdom talk."
God
seems to be whispering into our ears, "I want to come, but I
am not coming if you do not long for me to come."
This was the revelation
within the revelation expressed and inspired by words in a childlike faith this
morning early at the cool of the dayÓ.
Now let us
sledgehammer away by praying one more time.
"Your kingdom
come"
"Blessed is the one who
comes in the name of the Lord."
"Come for us in whom you favor
has rested dear Lord Jesus."
"Come soon dear Lord, come
soon."
For all of us, this man, in
JesusÕ name. Amen! Gerry Gutierrez.
