Gerry Gutierrez' Update
Going back to the source of power This morning when
it was still dark, I saw myself in a little five years old little girl who was
crying confused when she found herself awaken on the basement of our house. Her
name is Sarah and she is the daughter of Jimmy and Nadia Dukes from Alabama, my
niece and nephew, visiting Nathaniel for his Birthday.
Sarah had climbed
the well-illuminated steps from the basement and she did not know what to do in
the first floor but just cry and wait. I was already
awake thinking and a little confused of how my eyes that was getting better
started to go bad again, showing signals of deterioration. I went out and
tried to comfort little Sarah by just touching her little trembling head and as
softly as I could say, ÒIt is okay little mama, its okayÓ. Soon two men in
their thirtiesÕ appeared in both sides of the steps that lead to the basement
and to the second floor. One was Jimmy her father and the other one on the top
of the steps was my son Nathaniel her uncle. Neither of the three of us spoke
to one another. I just led the little girl back to the light of the to where
her father was and at the sight of her father she was calmed down and went back
to sleep. Then I thought of
myself and I said, ÒWhy is not that easy to calm and comfort adultsÓ? Then I
read still a little disturbed the verse of the day from my iPhone ÒHe himself
was not the light he came only as a witness to the lightÓ. John 1:8 Then I thought of
little Sarah, she did not need big uncle Gerry, neither did she need uncle
Nathaniel. She just needed the sight of her father at the end of the
well-illuminated steps at the bottom of the basement. In the same way that those who came to Jesus in Luke 6: 18-19 who came to
hear Jesus to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled
by evil spirits were cured and the people all tried to touch him because power
was coming from him and healing them all. In the same way,
there is power in just coming to the father for us all.
Perhaps
you are hurting? Perhaps you have fallen and cannot get up? Perhaps you are in
pain from a broken heart? Perhaps you have a bruised knee but though it hurts,
is not as painful and the pains of your heart? Come to Jesus; do
not go to any uncle or cousin near by. Jesus said in Luke 6
Let us turn to the Father of light where there is always comfort. Gerry
