Personal Letter from Gerry Gutierrez to his son Nathaniel on the Event of a Possible Serious Medical Diagnosis From: "Gerry Gutierrez"
<gerrygutierrez@hotmail.com> Subject: Go...for he is praying" Date: May 1, 2010 8:58:36 AM EDT To: "Nathaniel Gutierrez" Dear Nathaniel; In few hours I will be meeting with the Mayor of the City, the
Governor of the city, the Police Chief, The Judge, the Doctors and lawyers and
Principles of schools the teachers and prominent leaders of the city for our
Saturday Morning Prayer Breakfast. As important as this meetings are and requires preparation and
prayers; I am mindful of you and your report from the neurologist. I am
disturbed that he may think of the possibility of a Òbrain tumorÓ. (May it not
be so dear Lord) I asked a friend to pray and asked others to pray with me for you. Then I went to the Word to seek the mind of God for my needs of comfort and hope. I happen to be reading and studying the conversion of Paul. And as you well know our Lord has his ways to speak to his own in the most unusual ways and through the most unusual verses. Paul, after the Lord appeared to him in the road to Damascus, he
is lead by the hand into Damascus. For three days he was blind, and did not
drink or eat anything. In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord
called to him in a vision, ÒAnaniasÓ. ÒYes, Lord,Ó he answered. The Lord told
him Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man of Tarsus
named Saul, for he is praying. In a vision he has seen a man named
Ananias and place his hands on him to restored his sightÓ What caused me such a comfort, hope and delight is the fact that
our Lord and Father cares so much for his called ones that once he takes over
the control of our lives, His loving eyes are over us and His ears are
thoughtful to our prayers. Dear Paul, once blinded by religion and self-confidence is now
blind and scared and does not know what is next in his altered life. What a
better time to pray and fast than when you are confused. What a better time to
experience the loving care of the God who has called you to be His servant. For
he has not adopt us only to give as a name. He has adopt us Òas we areÓ with
our infirmities talents and sorrows. We are totally his responsibility. We are
the sheep of his pasture. We are bought with a high price. With the very life
and blood of his beloved Son our Lord Jesus. So we can pray confidently knowing
that he cares for us more than we care for ourselves. And we do pray in faith
but never trusting either our faith or our prayers but in the work of atonement
of our Lord Jesus in our behalf. May it said of us by our Lord Himself as he sends help. ÒGo, for
he is prayingÓ. I for one come to you my dear Nathaniel as send by God to
encourage you and pray for you together with you seeking to know afresh the
unlimited grace of our lord who has called you from birth to this very day. Your father and fellow servant of the most High. Gerry Gutierrez |
