Christmas in Huanta: December 27, 2006

Merry Christmas!!!

Five weeks ago Benjie took this "prize winning picture" of two little boys taking care of each other. The picture touched our hearts in such a way that I looked for the boys all over with no success. After much prayer the Lord led us on Christmas Day to the boys who were in the same neighborhood playing with their older brother who was building small road on a dirt mountain for their plastic little car. There we saw that the older brother (17) was also taking care of these young ones. We have to encourage such behavior.

We fell on the family like ton of bricks and attended the needs of the entire family. We cannibalized two old bicycles from our orphans and painted it for them. We also took several pieces clothing for each of them. (Garage sales things from the States). As a result they will join the Quechua congregation that is starting formally on the Seventh of January. It will be a long time before they again walk naked and barefooted.

I know it is not much, but for these two little ones and their family "We made the difference". I thought you would like to see their smile and approved what we did as your representatives in the Andes Mountains of Peru.

"When I was naked you put clothes on me". Praising and thanking our God for the opportunity.
